As part of The Wilkinson Companies’ 75th Anniversary celebration, we’re highlighting three valued manufacturing partners—Autoflame, Limpsfield, and Power Flame—whose products, technology, and support have helped us serve customers throughout New England for decades.
Next up Limpsfield.
Limpsfield: A Partnership Built on Friendship and Trust
For The Wilkinson Companies, successful partnerships have always been built on more than products and technology—they are built on relationships. Few partnerships exemplify that better than our longstanding relationship with Limpsfield Combustion Engineering.
More Than Business
When asked what has made the partnership successful, Limpsfield Managing Director Keith Knowles pointed to something that has remained constant throughout the years:
"Friendship as well as a great business relationship. Working and meeting up with GTW personnel is like meeting friends. Some of these relationships go back approximately 30 years."
That sense of trust and collaboration has helped both companies support customers while continuing to grow together.
A Customer-First Approach
According to Keith, one of the qualities that has always distinguished Wilkinson is its customer-focused approach and willingness to foster strong relationships between manufacturers and end users.
"The Wilkinson Companies are a great engineering-based company who are very customer focused. GTW have always introduced us at Limpsfield to their customer base, and this has helped all of our businesses and shows a great deal of transparency between our companies."
Solving Challenges Together
Over the years, the partnership has resulted in many memorable projects. Keith highlighted work completed at Northeastern University, where both companies enjoyed collaborating to improve the university's power plant, as well as the Distrigas project, which presented challenges but ultimately demonstrated the determination and commitment shared by both teams.
"The products did not work as expected, but we all stuck to the task and the products are still operational now 25 years later."
A Friendship That Spans Generations
Perhaps the most meaningful part of the partnership, however, extends beyond any single project. Keith recalls arriving in the United States as a young engineer from England in the early 1990s and being welcomed by Geoffrey C. Wilkinson, Sr.
"Geoff Wilkinson Sr., was the first person to welcome me to the USA in the early 1990s. He showed me around and helped with the USA business, which was extremely helpful as I was a naïve young guy from England at the time. I am proud to say I am still in touch with Geoff. Now it is great to work with Geoff Jr. and carry on the business and friendship between us and our companies."
Looking Ahead Together
Thank you, Keith, for taking the time to share your experience over the years with The Wilkinson Companies. As we look toward the future together, the foundation remains the same as it was decades ago: partnership, trust, and friendship.
