When someone says “Wilkinson” we know what our customers are thinking…

Boilers,

Efficient heating technology,

Mobile boilers…

But what about Cooling Towers?

Many customers aren’t aware that The Wilkinson Companies can provide our expertise on the coolingtower-1.pnginstallation of cooling systems.

Wilkinson works with our customers to provide the cooling tower system that is right for you. We install a variety of systems, including:

  • Cross flow
  • Counter flow
  • Factory or field erected
  • Induced or forced draft

Our focus is on energy efficiency and working as a team to determine the best fit for your building.

So how does a cooling tower keep your facility cool?

First, heated water is pumped to the top of the tower. The warm water enters the system and is evenly dispersed over the fill deck of the system. The water flows through the system, which causes it to begin to evaporate and cool down. Fans spread air through the system to further evaporate the water and continue the cooling process. As the water runs through, it cools the heat source.

As system water evaporates, fresh “make up” water is added to the system. Accumulated elements from the water are removed through a bleed off valve and flushed out as waste water to the sewer or storm drain.

The remaining cooled water is used for:

  • Air conditioning
  • Producing electric power
  • Manufacturing purposes
